We believe that, by launching My Development Center, we are creating better opportunities to improve services offered to children, young people and care leavers. Our ambition is to engage the whole community in making Reading a happy and fulfilling place in which to grow up and live. 

We have a duty to protect and cherish the most vulnerable and troubled children and young people in our society. We also have a responsibility to work smarter with partners to create an environment which supports all children and families in Reading.
  

We know that, in recent years, services have not been as good as they could be. My Develpment Center will give strong leadership and a clear focus on improving services and building the foundations for better ways of working.
